Following the Government announcement on Monday evening regarding the national COVID-19 lockdown we would like to update and reassure all of our supporters about how it will affect our projects in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire.
For our frontline staff, we will be reinstating a condensed staff rota to reduce the cross contamination risk between workers, and we will once again be suspending volunteer hours. We are incredibly grateful to all of our staff, volunteers and the security firm that work with us, who have worked tirelessly to ensure as much consistency as possible for our residents and in turn ensuring the smooth running of our projects.
For our residents, we will be reinforcing the Government’s guidelines surrounding nights out, support bubbles and daily exercise. Many of our residents are particularly vulnerable to the virus and because of this we are very proud of the way the residents have rallied round to protect each other. We will also be increasing our welfare checks of our ‘move on’ clients who have left us to ensure that no one feels alone during period of isolation, as well as ensuring that life during the lockdown is as fun and safe as possible for our current project residents.
For our supporters, we would like to say a massive thank you for the donations, fundraisers and kind words you have provided over the last year; and we ask you to continue with this support however you can. We would like to remind you that we are not taking clothing or bedding donations unless new and packaged due to storage and hygiene limitations. It is the generosity and kindness of all of you that has kept us afloat during a year of uncertainty, confusion and hardship, so thank you.
If you have any questions, concerns or would like to provide support to any of our projects, please message us on Facebook (@havenfirstherts), Twitter (@haven_first) or email email@example.com. Please note that because of the reduced staff onsite, we expect our telephone lines will be busier than normal so we encourage you to email wherever possible.
