On 25 March 2015, we were informed that our application for registration with the Regulator of Social Housing, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), had been successful. This means that Stevenage Haven is now approved as a non-profit, social housing provider. The application process required significant efforts from our Director, Barbara Howard, supported by her management team. Over the past year, they have been developing processes and documentation to demonstrate that we meet the strict requirements of the Regulator.
The £2.3 M of HCA funding for the new hostel required Stevenage Haven to be a Registered Provider in order to be able to manage the hostel independently. In terms of future development of the charity, Registered Provider status enables us to tender for a wider range of projects in line with our strategic objectives.
