"B", referred to THE HAVEN by Citizens’ Advice Bureau, had complex housing needs with rent and debt problems which rendered him unable to access the Common Housing Register until he was debt free. "B" admitted that he did not read letters and had no idea what he owed. To compound the situation, "B" had major, debilitating health issues including diabetes and heart failure. The Haven helped "B" address his neglected paperwork and, with the sale of his mobile home, the debt was cleared. "B’s" support worker actioned the necessary medical forms following "B’s" heart attack, and sought sheltered accommodation for him with several Housing Associations. "B" was asked to view three properties – he loved the sheltered accommodation where he is now living happily, cared for and near his family. "B’s" story would be very different today without the effective help from The Haven.
